2011: Finding Confidence in Yourself

Can a classic children's lit author inspire you to be the best you can be? Dr. Seuss, born Theodor Robert Geisel (1904-1991), wrote 44 books, most known for their trisyllabic meter. I have fond memories of reading most of the Seuss tales to my two daughters.

"Today you are You, that is truer than true. There is no one alive who is Youer than You.”

“Be who you are and say what you feel because those that matter don’t mind and those that mind don’t matter!”

“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You’re on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who’ll decide where to go…

"You're off to Great Places!
Today is your day!
Your mountain is waiting,
So... get on your way!"

"So be sure when you step, Step with care and great tact. And remember that life's A Great Balancing Act. And will you succeed? Yes! You will, indeed! (98 and ¾ percent guaranteed) Kid, you'll move mountains."

"Why fit in when you were born to stand out?"

Enough said about taking ownership for your path in 2011? If you've got kids, have they heard the message?
