A quote and a blog post by Dan Pink intersected for me.At 365 Quote Quest the quote for the day is,
'Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.'~ Howard Thurman
Then I asked three questions for personal reflection:
- What do you get excited about?
- How can you channel this enthusiasm in positive ways in your life and work?
- How can you encourage others to do the same?
On a similar theme Dan Pink in his book Drive encourages people to think about their true motivation and put it in one sentence. He refers to Danny Kinzer who asked his students to undertake the 'What's Your Sentence?' described in Lindsey Testolin's excellent video. The students then posted their sentence on the school bulletin board. (This two minute video is well worth watching.)
What's your sentence that could help transform your career, business, life, or perspectives?
How can you challenge the energy which makes you come alive to make a difference to the people around you?
