God enters by a private door into every individual. ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Several full page advertisements from the United Church of Canada in magazines such as Time or spots on television no doubt has got people thinking. There is the image on the right with a stylish woman making a fashion statement with three silver cross necklaces. It has the by line "Has religion become just an accessory?" Or the image top left of a beautiful stained glass window with nature images heralding the new light bulb with "And God said, "Let there be energy efficient, fluorescent light." Then the caption below, "Is environmentalism a new religion?"
In our increasingly online presence with the ubiquitous computer, does the United Church have the answer to attract marginal individuals to faith? Do those who crave dialogue with the church find an opportunity through a church related blog site? Will those casual church goers find new commitment by accessing such sites as wondercafe.ca where they can express their opinions on matters of faith and God?
It may be that the stay at home believer will now have more reason to find nurture not only through religious television programming but through dynamic interactive religious blog sites. Is this one avenue for church development be it a Christian blog, Muslim blog, Jewish blog, or Hindi blog etc.?
